September 19, 2009 HVQ booth at the Holmes Co. Fair

This was our first year decorating a booth for the Holmes Co. Fair. We had a great time and the booth was perfect (in our humble opinions). We went with a "nostalgic" theme, entitled, "A Stitch in Time..." and turned a 8' x 8' booth into a ladies bedroom from the 1900's...complete with bed, vintage steamer trunk, side tables, oil lamp, iron and board, clock, hats, sewing items and of course, quilts! We had both antique and new quilts...everything from full size bedquilts, to runners, to table covers to miniatures. We had it all! Thanks to all that helped decorate and tear down the booth and to everyone that provided props. It was all greatly appreciated. Blessings, ~Angie

August 27, 2009 Library Album Quilt signature block...

You can now download the pattern for the signature block we showed and discussed at our August meeting. All the blocks will go into a "signature album" quilt, which will be presented to the Holmes County Library in the near future, to show our thanks and appreciation, for letting us use thier annex building to hold our guild meetings. All blocks need to be completed and turned in to Donna Rhodes, Library Quilt Chairman, at our September meeting. If you know you cannot attend, please make arrangements to send your block with a friend or "snail mail" it. Remember, this block will "finish" at 5" and can be made from scraps. All we ask, is that the center "section" be a "light" background (cream, off-white, eggshell...etc.) so your signature will stand out. You can either sign your signature with a permanent marker, safe for fabric, or embroider it by hand or machine. The choice is yours. If you have any questions, please contact Donna, Kathy or myself. If you are having any trouble downloading the pattern, please contact me via email or phone. ~Angie

June 20, 2009 Fat Quarter Birthday Club...

Ok, the sign-ups (and any changes) for the 2009-2010 Fat Quarter Birthday Club are offically closed! All additional members and any corrections/changes were made. We had 38 members sign-up! (yeah!...that is more than half of our guild member total!) You can download a copy of the list below. PLEASE check your email before each monthly meeting, as reminders to bring your brithday FQs will be sent to you. We have several July birthdays and for those of you that just signed-up, you will need to bring FQs for June & July birthdays...and everyone will need to bring one for our newest "June" member. If you have any questions, please contact me. Also, remember your FQs each month and if you are NOT able to attend a monthly meeting, please make arrangements to send them. Blessings, ~Angie

June 18, 2009 Monthly meeeting & QBTB Trunk Show was a success...

So, the next time you are at QBTB, please let Sandy and Sue know how much you enjoyed them coming to our meeting...we sure look forward to having them again! Don't forget to visist their website and online store Below, are just a few photos from the meeting...to see more, please visit our Facebook page and become a fan!
